AARP Driver safety course

Conway Medical Center has joined with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) to offer a DRIVER SAFETY course. This six-hour refresher course, taught in one six-hour class, is designed especially to meet the needs of drivers 50 years of age or older. Reservations are currently being taken for the 2013 classes to be held on:

  • June 20, 2013 - 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (light lunch will be served)
  • August 22, 2013 - 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (light lunch will be served)
  • September 28, 2013 - 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (light lunch will be served)

The fee for the course is $12.00 for AARP members and $14.00 for non-members and advance registration with prepayment assures participants a reserved space. Classes will be held at the Conway Medical Wellness & Fitness Center.

The AARP Driver Safety course is designed to help: tune up your driving skills and update your knowledge of the rules of the road; learn about normal age-related physical changes, and how to adjust your driving to allow for these changes; reduce your traffic violations, crashes, and chances for injuries; drive more safely; get an insurance discount.

Depending on the state where you live and your insurance company's policies, you may be eligible for an automobile insurance premium reduction or discount. Please consult with your insurance company or agent for further details.
