CONWAY, SC– Conway Medical Center (CMC) recently honored two employees for their valuable contributions to CMC. Joetta Elliott, RCP from cardiopulmonary and Tammy Todd, warehouse coordinator, were recognized as CMC’s “Starfish of the Year”. This award is given to two CMC staff members, one clinical and one nonclinical, who personifies service excellence by going above and beyond for CMC’s patients and families.
Joetta Elliott, RCP has been employed with CMC since 1980 and works in the cardiopulmonary department. “Joetta is well-liked and respected by her peers as well as her patients. She has a sense of humor that is very uplifting for those around her and believes that completing the work at the best of our ability is how we should care for all of our patients. She is one of those employees every supervisors wants in his or her department,” states Jack Kaminski, RRT director of Cardiopulmonary Services.
Tammy Todd works in the warehouse as the warehouse coordinator has been at CMC for almost five years. Larry Foye, director of Material Management says, “Tammy is one of those employees that if you need a helping hand she is always there and willing. If her coworkers are behind she pitches in and helps where needed. During her work day she makes sure all work is complete and all customers are happy.”
Both Elliott and Todd were quarterly winners of “Starfish of the Quarter” in 2013 and chosen as the yearly winners from that collective group. The following employees were Starfish of the Quarter for 2013: Margaret Gause, Dietary Department; Cathy Gouveia, RN, Medical Unit; Joseph Lewis, Grounds Department; Denise McMillan, Laboratory; Glen Pee, Security and Robbie Thompson, RT(R)(N),CNMT, Nuclear Medicine/Radiology.
