CONWAY, SC– Conway Medical Center (CMC), Kingston Nursing Center and Conway Physicians Group (CPG) were recently recognized by Palmetto Hospital Trust (PHT) at the 12th Annual PHTS Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Conference & PHT Awards Luncheon for safety.
CMC and Kingston Nursing Center, an 88-bed facility offering Long Term Care and Subacute Care were two of seven recipients to receive Most Improved Safety Award. This award is for the largest reductions in loss ratio from 2012 to 2013 in the seven categories. CMC was the winner in the category of hospitals with 201-500 beds and Kingston Nursing Center was the winner in the Long-Term Care Facilities category.
Kingston Nursing Center was also one of six winners of the PHT Transitional Duty Award to recognize members with the best/highest ratio of transitional duty to lost work days, a measure of effectiveness of the hospital return to work program. Kingston Nursing Center won in the category of Long-Term Care Facilities.
CPG, a multi-specialty group of 17 physician offices affiliated with CMC was one of four winners in the category of Other Facilities to receive the Safety Award, which recognizes facilities with the lowest loss rations in each of seven peer groups.
PHT and its members are known for their emphasis on preventing lifting injuries, trips and falls, injuries from sharp objects, and for helping injured workers return to work as soon as their condition permits. All of these loss-prevention techniques have been instrumental in helping PHT members earn refunds for their contribution to the group self-insurance program’s success.
