CONWAY, SC–Conway Medical Center (CMC) Laboratory has recently been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP’s Accreditation Programs.
During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examined the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also reviewed laboratory staff qualifications, as well as the laboratory’s equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.
“We are proud to receive the CAP accreditation,” stated Luann Skipper, lab manager for CMC. “Our staff is very dedicated and we strive to offer the best clinical services possible. This accreditation confirms that our patients can continue to expect superior service and reliable testing when they come to Conway Medical Center.”
The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960’s, as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own inspection program. CMC is one of more than 7,600 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.
