CONWAY, SC– Kingston Nursing Center (KNC) recently earned five-stars in their overall rating from the federal government’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Five-Star Quality Rating System.
CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas about which they may want to ask questions. The Overall Quality Rating of one to five-stars is based on facility performance on three types of performance measures including;
* Health Inspections Rating: Measures based on outcomes from State health inspections
* Staffing Rating: Measures based on nursing home staffing levels
* Quality Measures Rating: Measures based on resident-level quality measures
KNC, an 88-bed facility offering Long Term Care and Subacute Care, was only one of 47 nursing facilities in the state to receive the five-star overall quality rating. “Providing excellent care with passion enhances the well-being of our elders, and they are our number one priority,” said Laura Fowler, Administrator for KNC. “We have a great team here at Kingston and we are thrilled to be awarded with this recognition.”
CMS is an agency within the US Department of Health & Human Services responsible for administration of several key federal health programs including, Medicare, Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments.
