CONWAY, SC– Conway Medical Center (CMC) recently recognized Jeremy Ryals and Paula Lawson for their work of giving exceptional customer service for the hospital’s quarterly “Starfish of the Quarter” award. This award is given to two CMC staff members, one clinical and one nonclinical, who personifies service excellence by going above and beyond for CMC’s patients and families.
Jeremy Ryals was the winner for the clinical area for Starfish of the Quarter. Ryals is an exercise physiologist who works in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. He has been employed with CMC for ten years. Ryals has been nominated four times for this award and each time his exemplary attitude and the inspiration he gives patients is mentioned. Ryals nomination states, “Jeremy always encourages patients and reassures them that they can get better and they believe him. He adjusts each training routine to meet the needs and interests of each patient and they love the individual attention and caring he displays.”
Paula Lawson was the nonclinical winner for Starfish of the Quarter. She is the Front Desk Receptionist for CPG Waccamw Cardiology has been working there for four years. Lawson was nominated because of her upbeat and smiling personality and calming nature. Several coworkers nominated Lawson and said, “Paula is an inspiration to all of us with her positive attitude. She never complains about having to stay late and her personal life never compromises her work. She is always encouraging and thoughtfulness to patients and fellow employees. She truly deserves this honor.”
