CONWAY, SC– Conway Medical Center Foundation held their Annual Giving Campaign during the month of September, and this year’s theme was “Come Together.” The campaign kicked off on September 6 with a performance by Little Richard and Elvis from Legends Theater and a Beatles tribute band made up of CMC employees. The campaign ended four weeks later with $70,375.45 being pledged to the CMC Foundation by employees and physicians, volunteers and vendors.
CMC employees can give contributions of a one-time gift, a recurring gift or participate in the 60 Minute Club or 30 Minute Club, which employees give 60 or 30 minutes of their pay each payroll deduction. This year the Dollar-a-Day Club was formed where employees could give $1 a day for a total of $365 a year out of their pay. Those that chose to give could choose from 14 areas of giving or 20 endowments that are currently set up through the Foundation. Some of these areas include; Healthreach, CMC Wellness and Fitness Center, maternal/child health, nursing scholarship fund, palliative care or diabetes initiative.
Berns Massey, executive director for CMC Foundation states, “The fact that we not only met our goal, but exceeded it, speaks volumes to the commitment of our employees, physicians, volunteers and vendors. We are so grateful that even in this down economy, so many people stepped up to donate money that will be so beneficial for the hospital.”
