Conway Medical Center has received accreditation from College of American Pathologists (CAP) based on results of a recent on-site inspection.

CMC’s director of pathology, D. Mark Wilson, MD was advised of this national recognition and was congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided. CMC is one of more than 7,000 CAP-accredited facilitates worldwide.

The CAP accreditation process was designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients. During the accreditation process inspectors examined CMC’s laboratory records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examined laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety programs and records and overall management. No deficiencies in the CMC laboratory were cited.

The CAP has served for 50 years as the gold standard in laboratory accreditation and is a medical society that serves more than 18,000 physician members and the global laboratory community. The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own inspection program.
