In its continuing mission to improve the overall health in our community, Conway Medical Center has joined the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR). Registry affiliation helps CMC to ensure the best possible patient experience and surgical outcome.

The AJRR is an independent, not-for-profit database designed to store comprehensive data about join replacement procedures. The AJRR aims to carefully monitor the artificial joint throughout a recipient’s lifetime in a database containing information about the patient, the surgeon who performed the procedure and the hospital where the procedure took place. The data collected will help doctors more quickly identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and will help them match patients, procedures and implants to ensure that every patient has the best possible outcome.

“Joining the AJRR will help ensure that we can continue to provide patients with the best care possible,” said Peter N. Ramsey, MD. “By joining other hospitals in sharing information about artificial joint performance and long-term outcomes, we can help joint replacement procedures become safer nationwide, while optimizing our own patients’ experiences here at CMC.”

The AJRR was founded in 2009 by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and other orthopaedic industry leaders and began collecting data in 2011. All data collected by the AJRR remains confidential to protect patient privacy.
