James W. Adamson, MD, FACP, an internist practicing in Conway, South Carolina and on staff at Conway Medical Center, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine (ACP-ASIM), the society of internists. The distinction recognizes achievements in internal medicine, the specialty of adult medical care. Dr. Adamson was elected upon the recommendation of peers and the review of ACP-ASIM’s credentials subcommittee. He may now use the letters “FACP” after his name. Dr. Adamson is the outgoing Chief of Staff at Conway Medical Center and is certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received the Bronze Star for services rendered in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War in 1992. He also received the Waccamaw Sertoma Club’s Community Service Award in 1991. He is a graduate of Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed is residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Adamson is a member of the Horry County Medical Society and is a Sunday School Teacher and Trustee at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Adamson lives in Conway with his wife, Rev. Cheryl Moore Adamson.
