The Medical Services Center of Conway Medical is an established leader in medical care. With a staff of experienced physicians and support staff, admissions to our medical services center have increased steadily. The Medical Services Center occupies the second floor west wing of Conway Medical Center. With over 80 physicians in the Department of Medicine including a staff of five hospitalists who only practice inpatient medicine, the Medical Center offers comprehensive inpatient Medical Services. The center consists of 30 beds, all private, with accommodations for a family member to stay with each patient. There is a large waiting room for patient's families if needed.
Many of the patients serviced in the Medical Services Center are elderly with complex medical problems. The unit is designed to care for patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Medical Services Center provides general medical care for the adult and geriatric patients including; Chemotherapeutic agent administration, pre and post dialysis care, palliative care, blood and blood product transfusions, IV medications and enemas. Upon admission, the patient is assessed mentally, physically and spiritually and then monitored closely for complications that may prolong their hospital stay.
Some of the most frequent diagnoses include but are not limited to: HTN, Diabetes, COPD, Alzheimer's, Cancer, HIV, and terminal patients for palliative care.
The Medical Services Center consists of two, twelve hour shifts, 7 days a week. The unit is staffed by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, male attendant, and unit secretary, all who work collaboratively with the hospital physicians, case management and ancillary departments to provide and promote quality nursing care for all patients.
