Emergency Medicine Physician

Immediate Opening · Grand Strand, SC

Emergency medicine
that still feels like medicine

Conway Medical Center is hiring emergency medicine physicians for our physician-led, independent group. 42-bed ED. No hallway beds. No CMG. A team that operates like one.

We respond within one business day and schedule interviews within 5 business days.  Directly with our recruiters — no agency.

$260–270

60 seconds. Directly to our recruiter. No middleman

HOW THIS WORKS – FROM INQUIRY TO INTERVIEW

1
Submit your info
60 seconds, 6 fields. That’s it.

2
Response within one business day
Directly from one of our physician recruiters. Not a bot, not an agency.
3
Interview in 5 days
You pick the time. We’ll make it work.

42

Main ED beds
All private rooms. Dedicated high-, moderate-, and low-acuity zones.
Zero hallway beds — ever, no exceptions.

5 + 2 – 4

Attendings + APPs per shift
5 attendings and 2–4 APPs on every main ED shift. APPs cover Provider in Triage (PIT). Emergency medicine physicians at Conway Medical Center have real support

<1%

LWBS rate
Left without being seen under 1%. That’s a system that’s functioning — not one patients are fleeing.

50K

Annual ED visits
Enough volume to stay clinically sharp. Not so much that you can’t practice thoughtful emergency medicine.

1.5–1.7

Patients per hour (PPH)
A pace that’s genuinely sustainable. Busy enough to be clinically engaging. Not a burnout machine.

1:3

Nursing ratio (1:4 max)
Nurses who aren’t drowning can actually communicate with you. This ratio holds. 1:4 is the hard ceiling..

~2%

Trauma transfer rate
Level III Trauma Center. We keep our patients. Low transfer rate means real continuity of care for complex cases.

24/7

Intensivist + interventional cardiology
In-house intensivist coverage. 24/7 interventional cardiology. Chest Pain Center. STEMI program. They’re here when you need them.

Governance: Physician-led. Not a CMG.

This is not a Contract Management Group. CMC is an independent, physician-led nonprofit. Clinical decisions are made by clinicians. Your judgment is respected from day one. No production pressure. No RVU quotas. No administrator looking over your shoulder counting throughput.

No hallway beds.  No boarding.  No exceptions.

We say this explicitly because it’s genuinely rare — and because we know it matters to you. Every patient has a room. This isn’t a goal or an aspiration. It’s a hard operational rule.

Built for flexibility. Not for maximum extraction.

120-hour monthly minimum. 10- and 12-hour shifts. No call responsibilities. You can work additional shifts if you want them — all at the same rate, no cap.

🌙

Dedicated nocturnal positions available

Two nocturnist openings in the main ED. Permanent schedule — not a rotation you’ll be pulled from in six months.

📵

No call responsibilities

When you’re off, you’re off. No on-call obligations, no after-hours pages for your patients.

🏥

Main ED + 2 FSEDs

Socastee (8 beds, 3T MRI) and Hwy 22 (12 beds). Both fully equipped. FSED-exclusive coverage may be considered.

🤖

AI-assisted documentation

CMC uses AI note-taking technology in the ED — so you can focus on the patient, not the chart. No separate scribe needed.

Full transparency. No asterisks.

We don’t say “competitive compensation” and make you guess. Here’s exactly what this role pays.

Life on the Grand Strand

Conway is 10 minutes from Myrtle Beach.
The Grand Strand is your backyard.

For many physicians, the decision to take a role is really the decision to move a family. The Grand Strand makes that an easy conversation.

60+ miles of beaches

From Cherry Grove to Pawleys Island. World-class golf (100+ courses), boating, fishing, and waterfront dining. This is not a sacrifice posting.

Where physicians actually live

Carolina Forest, Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island, Socastee, and Myrtle Beach all have established physician communities. Excellent schools, safe neighborhoods, real sense of place.

Cost of living 9% below national average

Your compensation goes considerably further here than in a Tier 1 city. No state income tax on military retirement (if applicable).

Connected, not remote

Myrtle Beach International Airport. 90 minutes to Charleston. The Grand Strand has a major city’s amenities without a major city’s cost or commute.
