Ina Troutman, PA-C

Ina Troutman, PA-C,

Pediatrics

Ina is a physician assistant working in pediatrics at the CMC Health Plaza South office in Myrtle Beach. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed in South Carolina by the Medical Board of Examiners. Ina grew up in Murrells Inlet, SC and completed her undergraduate education at Coastal Carolina University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. During her undergraduate course, she worked as the senior laboratory assistant in the chemistry department while also conducting research on bacteriophages and serving as a teaching assistant. She was selected for the Swain Scholar Program through which she implemented a community health outreach program at a local elementary school to educate and promote healthy lifestyles at a young age. Ina then went on to earn a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. While in PA school, she was able to serve on a medical mission team where she helped set up free clinics in rural communities in South Africa and provided medical care to those in need.

Ina is grateful to now be providing pediatric care to the community that she grew up in as she has always been passionate about working with children and giving back to the community. She enjoys volunteering and has served on the medical team for Beach Church Joy Prom, a full-scale prom for special needs individuals in the community, where she assisted guests with medical needs while also dancing with anyone in need of a partner. Ina has been involved with several other philanthropic activities including volunteering at the St. Andrew’s Free Medical Clinic, serving as a volunteer through Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach by feeding the homeless, conducting experiments for Science Day at a local summer camp for children, volunteering in the Emergency Department at a local hospital, assisting with the preparation and production of organic samples used by Horry County Fire and Rescue for arson training canines, and assisting with the Women and Philanthropy and Leadership Conference. She has also volunteered with MUSC Urban Farm, MUSC Sugar-Free Kids Fall Festival, Myrtle Beach Marathon, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston.

In her leisure time, Ina enjoys reading, working out, and spending time outdoors where you can often find her in the company of her dog, Nova.
