Dillon Benson, MD,
Orthopaedics
Spine
Dr. Dillon Benson is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon with advanced training in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the spine, from the cervical region through the pelvis. He specializes in minimally invasive and motion-preserving techniques and treats a broad range of spinal conditions, including disc herniations, spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, spinal trauma, scoliosis, complex spinal deformity, and conditions requiring revision surgery.
Dr. Benson believes exceptional spine care begins with listening. He takes the time to understand each patient’s symptoms, goals, and concerns and prioritizes nonsurgical treatment whenever appropriate. When surgery is necessary, he uses advanced techniques to minimize tissue disruption, support recovery, and preserve function.
Dr. Benson completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center and advanced spine fellowship training at the University of Colorado, where he trained in orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine techniques, including minimally invasive surgery, motion preservation, complex revision surgery, and spinal deformity correction. His fellowship was part of the distinguished AO Spine Fellowship Program. Training at multiple Level I trauma centers also gave him extensive experience caring for patients with complex spinal trauma and other high-acuity spine conditions.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on spine trauma, postoperative outcomes, and navigation and robotics in spine surgery and has presented his research at national and international scientific meetings.
Committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care, he helps patients understand their options, restore function, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, strength training, playing golf, traveling, and trying new restaurants. A former collegiate soccer player, he remains an avid soccer fan.
