Heather Baldassarri, PA-C

Heather Baldassarri, PA-C,

General Surgery

Heather Baldassarri brings exceptional surgical expertise and a passionate commitment to patient advocacy to CMC's Surgical Associates team. With ten years of experience in trauma and surgical critical care, Heather understands the full spectrum of surgical patient needs, from the most complex emergencies to routine procedures requiring careful attention to detail.

What sets Heather apart is her unwavering dedication to patient safety and advocacy. Having cared for critically ill patients for years, she's developed an exceptional ability to anticipate needs, recognize complications early, and fight for patients who can't fight for themselves. Her transition from critical care to general surgery represents her desire to provide continuity of care, being with patients from their pre-operative consultation through their complete recovery.

Heather's patients appreciate her comprehensive approach to surgical care. Working alongside Dr. Aaron Epstein, she ensures that every patient receives a thorough evaluation, clear communication about their procedure, and attentive follow-up care. Her extensive procedural experience – from complex catheter placements to managing ventilators – gives her unique insight into potential complications and how to prevent them.

Having completed a specialized Physician Assistant Surgical Critical Care Residency, Heather brings academic excellence to her practice. Her Summa Cum Laude graduation from the New York Institute of Technology and multiple certifications, including Advanced Trauma Life Support reflect her commitment to providing the highest quality care.

What drives Heather is witnessing patients' transformation through surgical intervention – whether it's a life-saving procedure or cancer surgery that offers hope for a cure. She finds deep satisfaction in being part of a team that can step in when patients need help most, providing not just technical expertise but genuine compassion and advocacy.

After moving south from New York in 2022, Heather has made the Grand Strand her home and is excited to serve the Horry County community through expert surgical care that prioritizes both clinical excellence and patient well-being.
