Orthopaedics

Dr. John Stelmach brings exceptional training and a legacy of orthopedic excellence to Conway Medical Center's Orthopaedic department. Specializing in adult reconstruction and total joint surgery, Dr. Stelmach combines the latest technological advances with compassionate, personalized patient care.

What sets Dr. Stelmach apart is his extensive experience with both traditional and robotic-assisted surgical techniques. Having completed over 600 total joint cases, including advanced training on the Stryker Mako robotic system, he offers patients access to the most precise and minimally invasive surgical options available. His fellowship training under renowned specialists has prepared him to handle even the most complex joint reconstruction cases.

Dr. Stelmach understands that joint problems can significantly impact your quality of life, limiting everything from daily activities to the sports and hobbies you love. His approach focuses on getting you back to the activities that matter most to you, whether that's playing with your children, returning to the golf course, or simply walking without pain. He takes time to thoroughly evaluate your condition and explain all treatment options, from conservative approaches to advanced surgical interventions.

Having grown up in a medical family – his father was also an orthopedic surgeon for nearly 40 years – Dr. Stelmach developed an early appreciation for the importance of building lasting doctor-patient relationships. This background instilled in him both the technical excellence and compassionate approach that define his practice.

Dr. Stelmach has a special connection to the Conway area, having visited for years on golf trips with college friends. He and his wife, a high school English teacher, are excited to raise their two young sons in a community that offers both small-town values and access to excellent amenities. Their family enjoys exploring nature parks and discovering new places together.

Dr. Stelmach looks forward to helping patients throughout the region achieve better mobility and return to active, pain-free lives through expert orthopedic care.
