Dr. Kathleen T. Dunn completed her undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a B.S. in Biology with a second major in Spanish. She earned her medical degree from UNC School of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of California, San Diego. During residency, she was elected Administrative Chief Resident. She was also recognized with the Excellence in Family Planning award and Midwife Consultant award. After completing her residency, she practiced in San Diego for a few years before returning to the east coast and joining CMC. 

Dr. Dunn is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist. She believes in patient-centered care paired with evidence-based medicine. She strives to empower patients to be their own best advocates, so they have an active role in their medical care. It is important to her that her patients always feel heard. She loves talking with patients about a variety of women’s health topics, but she is especially passionate about contraception and breastfeeding. Dr. Dunn is also a skilled laparoscopic surgeon and employs minimally invasive techniques to provide patients with the best outcomes as well as improved pain control and recovery. 

Dr. Dunn is also proficient in Spanish. During college, she spent a semester abroad at the Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain and has since spent time in Mexico and Honduras during medical school and residency, providing medical care as well as counseling on women’s health. 

In her time away from work, Dr. Dunn enjoys spending time with her husband and young son. She loves spending time at the beach, traveling, hiking, and camping and generally being outside. She loves to bake but hates to cook.
