The Conway Medical Center Transitional Year Residency offers a robust, well-rounded curriculum designed to prepare you for success in your chosen specialty. Created by an experienced team of providers, our program delivers diverse clinical experiences and essential knowledge that will serve as the cornerstone of your medical career.
Our curriculum is structured in four-week rotation blocks, allowing you to gain in-depth exposure to each clinical area while maintaining continuity in your learning. This schedule provides the flexibility and breadth of experience essential for a strong transitional year. You’ll receive 20 days of paid time off throughout the year, with up to one week of PTO available per rotation block to support your work-life balance and personal wellbeing.

Advanced Placement Requirements
At least six months of fundamental clinical skills of medicine education must include experience in caring for inpatients in family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, surgery or any of the surgical specialties, or any combination of these.
Anesthesiology – During the first 12 months of the program, there must be at least one month, but not more than two month(s) each of critical care and emergency medicine
Dermatology – Basic TY year – Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics Outpatient
Diagnostic Radiology – Basic TY Year – Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, OB/GYN, Pediatrics Outpatient
Nuclear Medicine – 9 month direct patient care
Ophthalmology – Basic TY year – Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, OB/GYN, Pediatrics Outpatient
