Brittany Gusic, MD,
Geriatric Care
Primary Care
Dr. Gusic attended the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed a residency at Harpers Ferry Rural Family Medicine in West Virginia. She is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
“As a family medicine physician, I see patients from birth to beyond 100,” Dr. Gusic said. “I manage chronic illnesses, provide preventative care (including yearly gynecological exams), as well as perform procedures including joint injections, IUD/Nexplanon insertions, and skin biopsies. I am a physician focused on health and wellness. If I can work with a patient on lifestyle modifications versus adding another medication, I will always do so. I am also a physician who will always listen to her patients. Medicine is too fast paced at times, but I feel that taking the time to listen to patients can make such a positive impact on their care. “
Dr. Gusic said she knew early in her life which type of medicine she wanted to pursue.
“I was the student on the first day of medical school who knew she wanted to be a family doctor,” she said. “I love being able to take care of the whole person, as well as several generations of families. Watching a newborn grow up and taking care of patients near the end of life are aspects of family medicine that you do not get in other specialties.”
