What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

This is a common condition among office workers or anyone who regularly participates in repetitive tasks. Carpal tunnel syndrome causes numbness, pain and tingling in the hand. It typically gets worse over time, which is why early diagnosis is critical.

It occurs when the major nerve of your hand is compressed. This nerve travels through the carpal tunnel, which is the passageway of bone and ligaments at your wrist.

While splints and medication can help relieve these symptoms, surgery is sometimes needed to completely correct the problem.

The hand or wrist may be broken or injured as the result of falls, animal bites or other accidents. We also treat dislocated fingers. It’s important that any trauma be treated early in order to avoid complications later. 

In an emergency situation, you should immediately call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

What is Dupuytren’s Contracture? 

This condition occurs when you can’t fully extend your finger. It’s caused by a problem with the fascia in your palm. Fascia is a layer of tissue that is located in the palm and fingers, found just underneath the skin. When the fascia tightens or thickens, it creates issues with finger extension.

What is Trigger Finger?

Trigger finger occurs when there is stiffness and pain when you straighten or bend your finger. It typically affects the ring finger and thumb.

These are benign (non-cancerous) fluid-filled masses that are commonly found on the hand and the back of the wrist. 

These cysts may grow, change and, in some cases, even disappear. However, in certain cases, the cyst can cause extensive pain and interfere with daily tasks. We offer several successful treatment options for ganglion cysts.
