CMC Orthopaedics physician named one of 10 Spine Surgeons Under 45 to Know
Dr. Simone Maybin of CMC Orthopaedics has been named one of Becker’s Spine Review’s 10 Spine Surgeons Under 45 to Know.
Dr. Maybin is an interventional pain management specialist who specializes in treating acute and chronic pain in the spine, extremities, and face. She graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She served in the Air Force in New Jersey and Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter as well as a deployment to Kuwait. After serving five years, she returned to South Carolina for medical school at MUSC. She completed her fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Maybin encourages a healthy and active lifestyle. She’s a professional bodybuilder, taking part in 19 competitions over nine years. She is also a Certified Health Coach. In 2021, she was named by the North American Spine Society (NASS) a “20 Under 40” honoree in its SpineLine publication.
