Conway, SC: Conway Medical Center is one of four recipients of the MultiPlan, Inc. 2018 Rural Health Outreach Grant. This grant will help fund the mobile 3D mammography program for patients in Horry County, including those who are low-income and/or without adequate insurance.
Conway Medical Center submitted a creative proposal for addressing the healthcare needs of the people in our community. The $7,500 grant will help purchase the vehicle to bring 3D mammography imaging services to women who might not otherwise be able to visit the hospital for their breast cancer screening.
The mobile 3D mammography is part of Conway Medical Center’s Healthreach program which provides potentially lifesaving screenings for the medically uninsured and underinsured. The Healthreach program is funded by donations to the Conway Medical Center Foundation.
Conway Medical Center is defined by its historical ability to consistently meet the healthcare needs of Horry County. The nonprofit medical center, was established in 1928 as Horry County’s first hospital and has 210 inpatient beds; an Outpatient Diagnostic Center and Conway Physicians Group (CPG), a multi-specialty group of 19 physician offices affiliated with the hospital.
