CMC Earns an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
Spring 2026 Safety Grade is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety
Conway Medical Center (CMC) earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for Spring 2026, the organization’s highest rating. The grade reflects independently verified performance across dozens of evidence-based measures including infection prevention, medication safety, and surgical outcomes.
“For nearly a century, Conway Medical Center has been committed to delivering the best health care possible for our community,” said Brian Argo, CMC President and CEO. “This ‘A’ from the Leapfrog Group is independent confirmation that our team is delivering on that mission every single day.”
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A”, “B”, “C”, “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections. The Leapfrog Group grades more than 3,000 hospitals across the United States twice per year. Conway Medical Center’s A’ places it among the top-performing hospitals in the country for patient safety.
“An ‘A’ Grade is a strong sign that Conway Medical Center is deeply committed to protecting patients from harm,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We commend the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers for the role each played in earning this distinction.”
“The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is one of the most rigorous independent assessments in American healthcare,” said Dr. Paul Richardson, CMC Chief Medical Officer. “It measures what actually happens at the bedside – infection prevention, medication safety, surgical outcomes. Earning an ‘A’ reflects the clinical discipline and commitment to evidence-based practice that our physicians, nurses, and care teams bring to every patient encounter.”
